Trailer- Film Statistics and Research

The following research I conducted using IMDB. (http://www.imdb.com/)
This research will be useful in the future, as it will show me what certain age groups like in a horror, and how much the 'best rated' horror movies make at the box office/ how much profit or loss that particular film made.

Annabelle
Budget: ($) 6,500,000
Opening Weekend :($) 37,134,255
Gross :($) 84,263,837

The above graph shows that the best rating for this film was given by Females under 18. This supports our hypothesis that teenagers are the main audience group that enjoy horror films. However, it goes against the fact that stereotypically, boys enjoy them more than girls.

Insidious
Budget :($) 1,500,000
Opening Weekend: ($) 13,271,464
Gross: ($) 53,991,137

The above graph shows that the best rating for this film was given by Males under the age of 18. This supports both of our hypothesis that teenage boys enjoy horror movies more than any other age group or gender.

The Conjuring
Budget :($) 20,000,000
Opening Weekend: ($) 41,855,326
Gross: ($) 137,387,272

The above graph shows that the best rating for this film was given by was both boys and girls under the age of 18. This again proves that teenagers are the main audience group that highly enjoy horror movies.
